Welcome to Outshot School!

Congratulations! If you are reading this, you are one step closer to becoming a better dart player! These FREE lessons will be in reference to my “3 Darts in Hand” Outchart. We are going start with the lower numbers and work our way up to the higher ones. It’s best to learn them in this order because they build upon each other. Please take some time to practice after each chapter. It is important that you fully understand and memorize each chapter before moving onto the next. Chapter 1 focuses on the outshots highlighted in yellow below.

Before we get started, it is important to understand something about your throw. You are very rarely going to throw your dart exactly where you are aiming. Think of it like this — your throw is like shooting a shotgun. The pellets (and your darts) will spread out in a circle, centered around your aim point. For this reason, it is best to think of your “aim” as a circle, instead of a single point.

The size of your aim circle is determined by how consistent your throw is. When you are a true beginner, your circle might be the entire size of the dart board (that’s okay!) If you want to get better at darts, shrinking your aim circle is going to be your main goal. You can actually find out how big your circle is by pinning up a piece of paper to a dart board. Draw a small dot on it, then throw 30-50 darts at it.

Anyways, back to the point. The layout of the dartboard can sometimes come into play when considering the highest % chance to checkout (or not bust) depending on the situation. You will soon realize that going certain routes will give you a bigger target to shoot at (two numbers instead of 1). The bigger the target, the better % chance to hit it, and a higher % chance to win! Let’s get started! :)
